“The User Experience of Design Systems – On Material Design and the Templatization of Digital Products”
Rune Madsen is a recent co-founder of Design Systems International in New York, a deeply technical design studio focused on the creation of computational systems. With a background from The New York Times and O’Reilly Media, Rune is currently writing Programming Design Systems, a free online book that tries to answer a central question of the digital age: “What happens if we redefine the graphic design curriculum using a programming language as the tool for the designer?”. He believes in simplicity, organized complexity, and that the pragmatic and poetic is inseparable. Rune was born in Denmark, but has lived in New York since 2009.
